Insured:

Murdoch University and/or associated and/or subsidiary companies.

Interest Insured:

Insured Persons

  • All employees and senate members (whether permanent or temporary).
  • Visiting lecturers and authorised personnel including adjunct professors.
  • Members of the families of employees and senate members whilst journeying on authorised business travel.
  • Undergraduate and Postgraduate students whilst journeying on authorised business travel as part of their official studies and/or research.

Cover:
365 days

Whilst on authorised business, field trip or research travel undertaken on the business of the Insured and/or Insured Persons including incidental private holiday travel as authorised by the Insured.

Such cover shall commence from the time the Insured Person leaves his normal residence or place of business, whichever is the place of departure for the commencement of the journey and be continuous on a full time basis until the Insured Person returns to hisnormal residence or place of business, whichever first occurs.

Note: Travel over 180 days must be reported to the Insurance Administrator.

  • Nill Excess.
  • $ 250 Business Computers including Personal Computers.

Principal Exclusions

  • No cover for Afganistan, North Korea, Somlia or Chechnya.
  • Expenses incurred when the Insured Person is travelling against medical advice.
  • Expenses incurred for continuing treatment including medication commenced prior to date of travel.
  • Sexually transmitted disease or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) or Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection.
  • Training for or participating in professional sport of any kind.
  • Intentional self-injury or suicide or any attempt.
  • Air travel except as a passenger in a properly licensed aircraft.
  • Nuclear material, ionising radiations or contamination by radioactivity from nuclear fuel or waste.
  • Any criminal or intentional illegal act of You or the Insured Person.
  • No cover for persons aged 80 years or over. Limited cover to persons over 75 years of age.
  • Damage and third party liability for the rental/hire of vehicles except for excess cover. Separate insurance cover must be taken out for rental/hire of vehicles. The rental vehicle must be rented from a licensed rental agency.
  • Unaccompanied Luggage.

Each Insured Person being under the 75 years in respect of Personal Injury

Personal Injury:

Death and Capital Benefits (Event 1 19) up to

$ 150,000 - $ 250,000

Weekly Accident (Event 21) per week (maximum) payable for 156 weeks.
(Excess 7 days)

$ 1,000 - 1,500

Limited for accompanying dependant Children, and Insured Persons under the age of 18 years, Event 1 Death only
(Only applicable if Personal Injury insured).

Cover for medical expenses incurred in your country of residence is excluded.

Mislaid luggage (includes maximum $3,000 for replacement of essential items of luggage in excess of 8 hours).

Travel Claims Procedure

  • At all times keep AIG Assistance Card on your person.
  • For emergencies call the telephone number on AIG Assistance Card for immediate help and guidance.
  • If property is lost/stolen report to police.
  • Keep all receipts/invoices for replacement purchases.
  • If travel arrangements are interrupted or changed due to an accident or illness, AIG Insurance will only pay/reimburse additional costs incurred if a medical certificate or report is obtained at time of treatment to substantiate claim.
  • Keep all receipts/invoices for medical expenses.
  • On return to Australia lodge claim through Office of Financial Services.
