Active Selection Codes

1. Responsible Person *

This selection code sets out the staff member responsible for the Project, by reference to their staff or student number and name in the format; A.Person. The person is the point of reference for all account and finance related enquiries and is reponsible for the accuracy and compliance to University policies of all financial transactions and projects relating to the Project. Choice of responsible person is a decision for the manager of the Cost Centre to which the Project is attached.

2. ARS Category *

This selection code applies only to Research Projects and is completed by R&D. The selection code classifies Research projects into either one of four 'Areas of Research Strength' identified as part of Murdoch University's strategic plan or as 'N/A' (non-aligned). The purpose of this code is to enable reporting on projects by ARS category.

3. Project group *

This selection code indicates that one or more projects need to be grouped together for a particular purpose that will require the generation of a regular consolidated report. Where there is an imperative for projects to be grouped together without the need to create a separate cost centre, a 5 digit (non-posting) project code can be used as a grouping key. Examples of potential project groups may include CRC research projects across multiple Divisions or separate Phases of a Commercial development.

4. Research Overhead *

This selection code applies only to Research Projects and is completed by R&D. The purpose of this code is to classify Projects as to whether they attract the 15% research overhead charge for R&D, and enable reports to be generated on these Projects.

5. Research Fund Type *

This selection code applies only to Research Projects and is completed by R&D. The purpose of this code is to classify Research Projects by DEST funding type, to enable the generation of relevant reports.

6. Project End/Review Date *

This selection code relates to when a Project's end/review date is scheduled. Any Project that do not have an end/review date will be assumed to have a 31/12/2010 date.
